I coached athletics at Grand Rapids Cedar Grove Boxing Gym from 1991 to 2025. Most of my players were between 12 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Gabriel
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
