Fumiko Ito
Painter, potter and teacher at Old Yokohama Art Collective
- 🇯🇵 Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan
- 1984 to 2021
- English, Japanese
I work mostly in embroidery, sometimes graphic design. My first show was in 1984 at Old Yokohama Art Collective, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I never rush a conversation. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Fumiko
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
Mediums
What gifts mean to Fumiko: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
