I've coached athletics at Duisburg Swimming Club since 1987. Most of my players were between 10 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never turn anyone away.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Florian
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Florian: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
