I've been a nurse for 24 years, most of them in orthopedics at Kampala Regional Medical Center in Kampala. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.
More about Florence
I still get cards from families years later. They're pinned to my fridge.
Areas of care
What gifts mean to Florence: A gift would go toward blankets and small comforts for patients without family.
