Florence Esther Shayo

Tennis coach, Dar es Salaam Sports Club

I coached tennis at Dar es Salaam Sports Club from 2003 to 2018. Most of my players were between 10 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I bake for the whole street at New Year. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

More about Florence

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
