Fikir Mekdes Mekonnen

Journalist and author

  • 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • Addis Ababa Press
  • Since 1990
  • English, Amharic
I write fiction. My work has appeared in Addis Ababa Press and a few places that have long since closed. I run a small writing group that meets every second Thursday. I take the work seriously, though not myself.

More about Fikir

Some of my pieces still make me wince. Some, I'm proud of.

What gifts mean to Fikir: A gift would give me a bit more time to write instead of taking on extra work.
