Femi Nonso Ogunleye

Youth chess coach and mentor

  • 🇳🇬 Kano, Kano, Nigeria
  • Silverlake Boxing Gym
  • Since 1994
  • English
I've coached chess at Silverlake Boxing Gym since 1994. Most of my players were between 12 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never raise my voice.

More about Femi

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

You coached me in 2019. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from Leicester.
