Fatma Ebru Özkan
Master of tiling, now teaching apprentices
- 🇹🇷 İzmir, İzmir, Türkiye
- Old Acacia Workshop
- 1994 to 2019
- English
I've worked in tiling from 1994 to 2019. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 1,050 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I try to remember everyone's name.
More about Fatma
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Fatma: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
