I've been a nurse for 37 years, most of them in palliative care at Redwood Regional Medical Center in Yonkers. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I garden badly but happily.
I'm still learning every day.
