Evans Simiyu Otieno
Watercolor and printmaking artist
- 🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Nairobi Gallery
- 1991 to 2015
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in watercolor, sometimes printmaking. My first show was in 1991 at Nairobi Gallery, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I try to remember everyone's name. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
More about Evans
I've had 14 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.
Mediums
What gifts mean to Evans: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.

I bought one of your pieces in 2019. It's still the first thing I see in the morning. Greetings from Kasarani.
