I've been a nurse for 32 years, most of them in elder care at New Orleans Children's Hospital in New Orleans. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I run most mornings.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
