Esteban D. Chávez
Self-taught woodcarving artist
- 🇲🇽 Tehuacán, Puebla, Mexico
- 1994 to 2021
- Spanish, English
I'm a woodcarving artist based in Tehuacán. I've been making things from 1994 to 2021 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives.
I also teach a weekly class at Tehuacán Art Collective, which keeps me honest.
More about Esteban
I've had 9 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.

What gifts mean to Esteban: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
