Ephrem Worku

Upholstery for 18 years in Mekelle

🇪🇹 Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia
Old Mekelle Shop
1998 to 2016
English, Amharic

My trade is upholstery. I opened my own shop in 1998 in Mekelle and I'm still there most mornings. The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 18 years later for another job. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

More about Ephrem

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Ephrem: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
