For 40 years I've mentored people in first-generation students and writing. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Emily
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Emily: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
