My subject is civil engineering, and for 24 years I got to share it with undergraduates at Melbourne Polytechnic.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I run most mornings.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
