Emi Kaneko
34 years teaching drama in Osaka
- 🇯🇵 Osaka, Osaka, Japan
- Mount Pleasant High School
- Since 1984
- Japanese, English
For 42 years I have been the drama teacher at Mount Pleasant High School. I teach Grade 11 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I walk the dog by the river. Inside it, I learn every name in the first week.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Emi
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Emi: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

You taught me drama in 2006 at Mount Pleasant High School. I still remember the snow day nobody expected.
