Elke Melanie Sommer
35 years teaching mathematics in Dresden
- 🇩🇪 Dresden, Saxony, Germany
- St. Joseph's Academy
- 2000 to 2010
- German
I came to teaching late, after working as a bank clerk, and ten years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

If you were in my first-year students class, you probably remember the rainy sports day.

What gifts mean to Elke: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me mathematics in 2010 at St. Joseph's Academy. I still remember the quiz night we nearly won.

You taught me mathematics in 2000 at St. Joseph's Academy. I still remember the snow day nobody expected.
