I taught English literature at Peoria High School in Peoria from 1996 to 2017. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I played music while people worked.
I coached the school's basketball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Elias
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
