Eka Lie
Master of leatherwork, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇩 Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia
- Sakura Works
- Since 1989
- English
I've worked in leatherwork since 1989. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 1,700 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I garden badly but happily.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Eka
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Eka: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
