I spent 28 years as a lecturer in organic chemistry at Medan Institute of Technology in Medan. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
Former students now work as a night-shift cleaner and in a dozen other fields. It is the best part of this job.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Dr. Tan
I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.
