I've spent 23 years as a lecturer in materials science at Shreveport Polytechnic in Shreveport. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I write a short note to every student at the end of term. It sounds small, but students remember small things.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.

I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.
What gifts mean to Dr. Ortiz: Any gift helps me keep buying books for students who can't afford them.
