I've spent 20 years as a lecturer in materials science at Mukono Institute of Technology in Mukono. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
More about Dr. Kato
I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.
What gifts mean to Dr. Kato: Gifts will go to a small travel fund for students presenting their first paper.
