I've spent 48 years as a lecturer in civil engineering at Catania State University in Catania. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I watch every football match going.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Dr. Barone: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
