I've spent eight years as a lecturer in nursing at Brookfield Institute of Technology in Accra. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I walk the dog by the river.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.

What gifts mean to Dr. Asante: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
