Dorcas Joyce Simiyu

Painter, potter and teacher at Dar es Salaam Gallery

  • 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Dar es Salaam Gallery
  • 1988 to 1998
  • English, Swahili
I work mostly in textiles, sometimes jewelry. My first show was in 1988 at Dar es Salaam Gallery, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog. Most of my work is inspired by the changing seasons. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
