I've been a nurse for 23 years, most of them in rehabilitation at Birmingham Regional Medical Center in Birmingham. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
