I taught drama at Manila High School in Manila from 2007 to 2019. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk. I coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
