For 35 years I was the history teacher at Berlin Middle School. I taught the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I had 2,030 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Dieter
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
