I came to teaching late, after working as a bus driver, and 46 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,100 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Derya
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the farm, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Derya: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me statistics in 1990 at Kadıköy Middle School. I still remember the surprise birthday cake.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
