I teach music and statistics at Durham Public School, Durham. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I've had 240 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Derek: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
