Derek R. Simpson
Self-taught ceramics artist
- 🇳🇿 Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand
- Since 1982
- English
I work mostly in ceramics, sometimes sculpture. My first show was in 1982 at Valley View Studio, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
Most of my work is inspired by the changing seasons. I garden badly but happily.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Derek
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.

What gifts mean to Derek: A gift would go toward materials for my next series.
