Dereje Yared Desta
Choir director and singer
- 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Highland Ensemble
- Since 1983
- English
I've played singing since 1983, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
I teach about 15 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I watch every football match going.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
Instruments or styles
What gifts mean to Dereje: A gift would go toward new strings, repairs and music for my students.
