For 21 years I was the environmental science teacher at Meadowbank Secondary School. I taught the youngest children and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I ran the chess club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Dereje
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
