Dereje Abera

Teacher at Beacon High School, loves French

  • English, Amharic
I taught French at Beacon High School in Addis Ababa from 2003 to 2017. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I answered every email, even at midnight. My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Dereje: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
