I taught design and technology at Lotus Academy in Yonkers from 1989 to 2007. Most days I taught first-year students, and I learned every name in the first week.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Denise
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

You taught me design and technology in 2007 at Lotus Academy. I still remember the cold winter when we all kept our coats on.
