Deepa B. Bhatia
Master of carpentry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Kolkata, West Bengal, India
- Old Kolkata Trades Guild
- 1986 to 2009
- English, Hindi, Spanish
I've worked in carpentry from 1986 to 2009. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 780 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I answer every message, eventually.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Deepa
If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
What gifts mean to Deepa: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.

You fixed our roof in 1990 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from Mumbai.
