I've been a nurse for 36 years, most of them in neonatal care at Starlight Community Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
