I taught art at Starlight Primary School in Los Angeles from 2007 to 2019. Most days I taught first-year students, and I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
Over the years I had 400 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Daniel
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the coast, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Daniel: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
