Daniel Hans Hartmann
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇩🇪 Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany
- Little Valley View Shop
- Since 1998
- German, Spanish
I've worked in thatching since 1998. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 1,600 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 24 years later for another job.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Daniel: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
