I coached athletics at Philadelphia Swimming Club from 2009 to 2020. Most of my players were between 10 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I answered every email, even at midnight.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
