I've coached chess at Christchurch Heritage Youth Club since 1978. Most of my players were between 11 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.

I still think about the day the fire alarm went off during the exam. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Montego Bay.
