I've been a nurse for twelve years, most of them in emergency care at St. Mary's Children's Hospital in Houston. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I garden badly but happily.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
