Coach Yana
Hockey coach, Ashford Youth Club
- 🇺🇦 Kyiv, Kyiv, Ukraine
- Since 1985
- English
For 41 years I've run the hockey program at Ashford Youth Club in Kyiv. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I play music while people worked.
More about Coach Yana
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Yana: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

I still think about the day we all got the giggles in assembly. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Colombo.
