Coach Yakubu
Coached boxing for 20 years in Ikeja
- 🇳🇬 Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria
- 1978 to 1998
- English
For 20 years I ran the boxing program at Ikeja Community Club in Ikeja. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never once raised my voice.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
