Coach Yakubu
Hockey and fitness coach, Abuja
- 🇳🇬 Abuja, Abuja FCT, Nigeria
- Valley View Athletic Club
- 1985 to 2020
- English, Yoruba, French
I coached hockey at Valley View Athletic Club from 1985 to 2020. Most of my players were between 10 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Coach Yakubu
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Yakubu: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
