Coach Wanjiru

Coached cycling for 45 years in Thika

🇰🇪 Thika, Kiambu, Kenya
Thika Community Club
Since 1981
English

I've coached cycling at Thika Community Club since 1981. Most of my players were between 11 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term. If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.

More about Coach Wanjiru

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Coach Wanjiru: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
