Coach Wangari
Coached chess for 17 years in Kampala
- 🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
- 2005 to 2022
- English, Swahili
I coached chess at Kampala Youth Club from 2005 to 2022. Most of my players were between 11 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
More about Coach Wangari
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Coach Wangari: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
