Coach Walker
Youth rowing coach and mentor
- 🇺🇸 Bakersfield, California, United States
- Bakersfield Sports Club
- Since 1978
- English
For 48 years I've run the rowing program at Bakersfield Sports Club in Bakersfield. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
What gifts mean to Coach Walker: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
