I coached cross country at Machakos Community Club from 1994 to 2018. Most of my players were between 8 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I make terrible puns.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Coach Wafula: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
