I've coached hockey at Mumbai Beacon Football Club since 2004. Most of my players were between 9 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
What gifts mean to Coach Venkat: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
